Jack Johnson's NEW album To the Sea is a tribute to his father, a champion surfer who passed away last August. His father, Jeff Johnson, had always looked to the sea when he was trying to make sense of life, which the younger Johnson eventually picked up and subsequently named his latest album after his father's habit.

The songs on the album are inspired by bitter and sweet memories. Johnson recorded the album in a span of three weeks with his longtime buddies - keyboardist, backup singer Zach Gill, bassist Merlo Podlewski and drummer Adam Topol. Unlike mane other musicians who fret and pull out their hair at every little mistake made on the track, the laid back Johnson chooses to sit on it instead of rushing to make corrections.

Jack Johnson will be embarking on a world tour that includes dates in the US, Europe and Australia. Building upon his philanthropic efforts, the 2010 world tour will continue to collaborate with local non-profit groups around the world and Johnson will once again donate 100 percent of his tour profits to support environmental, art and music education.

2010 release, the fifth studio album from the acclaimed singer/songwriter. The album was produced by Robert Carranza, Jack Johnson, and his bandmates Merlo Podlewski, Zach Gill and Adam Topol. To The Sea features guest appearances from the likes of G. Love, and Paula Fuga. The album was recorded at the Mango Tree Studio in Hawaii, and the Solar Powered Plastic Plant in LA using 100% solar power.
